True Love

Greetings! Thank you, as always for stopping by my blog.  I have several posts today for different Design Teams I am on, so thank you for your patience.  My card above is for the new theme for the Pink Team over at Eclectic Ellapu.  We have been on hiatus over the holidays and are back again, now!  Our first theme is Burgandy/Red and Cream.  For my card, I chose this image from Gecko Galz from the Pretty Victorian collection.  I generally do my backgrounds on smooth white card, but wanted to hold true to the cream so I grabbed a piece of water color paper instead that was much creamier in color.  I decided to mist the paper lightly with water and then sprinkled on some Red Dylusions Ink Spray and spritzed more water.  To add some burgundy, I next sprayed some Aged Mahogany Distressed Spray Stain.  The image of the girl was layered over the background. The sentiments by Red Lead Paperworks were stamped and trimmed and distressed with Antique Linen Distress Ink to make them more of a cream color.  The flower trim and hearts and ribbon complete my card. I hope you will stop over to EE to see the huge offering of inspiration by the Design Team and then consider sharing one of your own creations with us.  Best, Yvonne

I Came to Inquire...

Greetings!  Wow, the weeks fly by so fast.  It is already time for a new challenge over at Inkspirational and this time it is to create a project using colors of roses.
My immediate thought was of pinks and reds and so I pulled out every ink pad I owned and stamped away in every color!  The vintage polka dotted heart is by Stampington and the little girl and sentiment are by Red Lead Paperworks.  Embellishments were from my stash.  After completing my card, I remembered that roses also come in many other colors!  I hope you will pop on over to Inkspirational for all the details on allowable colors and to see the varied inkspirational pieces created for you by the Design Team.  We hope you be inkspired to share a piece of your own with us!  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugs, Yvonne

Sparkle with Love

Greetings and Thank You for stopping by my blog!  I am back today to share with you a card I made for the latest challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge.  Our theme, this time around, is to create a project with numbers somewhere on your project.  What variety the Design Team has come up with to inspire you!  I hope you will pop over to see their creations and then create one of your own to share with us.  Remember, our generous sponsor, FlonzCraft, is offering a gift voucher for $20 to one lucky participant!  Please remember that we are a stamping challenge, so stamping needs to be the focal point of your piece.  For my own card, I started with a piece of water color paper and added puddles of soft red, blue and purple paint. The butterflies and script are a stamp set by Red Lead Paperworks, as is the little Pixie which I stamped onto smooth card, trimmed and water colored.  The number was stenciled with a Tim Holtz stencil.  The gorgeous Washi Tape and foil hearts are by Retro Art CafĂ©.  A simple seam binding bow completes my card.  Thank you, again, for visiting and thank you for your kind comments.  They make my day! Hugs, Yvonne

They call it Puppy Love

Hello!  Thanks for dropping by.  I am still in a Valentines mode and recently made this card in a little bit more modern color scheme.  The image called Jane and Jeff and the sentiments are all by Red Lead Paperworks.  The vintage polka dot background is also by Red Lead.  The stenciled hearts were made with a Tim Holtz Stencil.  I had fun added some doodling to the background.  The paper doilies and seam binding are from my stash.  Thanks for stopping by! Fondly, Yvonne

Love is the Music of the Soul

Greetings and a warm thank you for stopping by today!  I am busy making Valentines for a showing in a display case where my daughter works.  This is the first time I inked up this precious little musician from Lost Coast Designs and when I saw him, I immediately thought of this sentiment I acquired recently from Red Lead Paperworks.  I kept the color scheme simple and added some washi tape from my stash and a bit of stenciling with a Tim Holtz Stencil.  It is snowing here!  I hope you are keeping warm.  Fondly, Yvonne

Romance

Greetings and thank YOU for stopping by my blog today!  We have a new challenge over at Inkspirational!  This time we are creating projects with an ombre effect.

I hope you will pop on over and see all the different designs the team came up with for the challenge and then give the challenge a go for yourself.  For my own project, I chose four different watercolor crayons in lilac, mauve, red violet and violet for the background.  The focal image is by Red Lead Paperworks and the butterfly is from Tim Holtz Tissue Paper.  The glitter hearts are from the Dollar Store.  Looking forward to seeing your projects! I am also entering this into the most recent challenge over at Uniko Studios! Hugs, Yvonne

The Unexamined Life

Greetings! Welcome back to the first challenge for 2015 for Fashionable Stamping Challenge.  Our theme is to create a project with something new:  stash, technique, a resolution, etc.  The sky's the limit, just be certain to making stamping the focal part of your project since we are a stamping challenge!  I hope you will pop over to see what the Design Team have dreamed up to inspire you and then submit a piece of your own for a chance to be the lucky winner of a $20 gift voucher from our generous sponsor FlonzCraft.  For my own project, I decided to ink up a bunch of images that I had not yet gotten to.  The focal image is from The Love Story by Oxford Impressions, as are the sentiments, and the gorgeous feathers are by Paper Artsy.  The birds are an old friend by Artistic Outpost.  The card base was spritzed with Rusty Hinge Distress Spray Stain, used for the first time, and the edges of the card were distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Hugs, Yvonne

Love Defined

Hello! Today I am sharing another Valentine created from the gorgeous imagery offered over at Gecko Galz!  I began by printing out a scripted paper from the Love Potion # 9 Digital Kit. After matting and applying it to the card front, I layered a doily, and an image from Retro Love Story.  The definition is also by GG.  The wood tiles are by Red Lead Paperworks and the glittered hearts are from the Dollar Store. Thanks for stopping by.  Hugs, Yvonne

Kiss Kiss Mon Cheri!

Welcome! Here today with another Valentine created using the gorgeous imagery from Gecko Galz! I began by printing out a paper from the Seeing Red Paper Pack and matting and trimming it to fit my card front.  The focal image is from the All You Need is Love Set.  I printed, trimmed, matted and water colored it with Distress Inks and layered it onto a gold foil paper doily and mounted it to the card front.  Some glitter hearts from the Dollar Store and some trim from my stash complete my card.

To the Moon and Back!

Greetings! I'll be sharing a series of Valentines over the next few days using gorgeous imagery from Gecko Galz! For my first sample, I stenciled Black Soot through a script stencil by TCW.  A paper doily was layered on next.  The focal image by GG is from Retro Love Story 2 and was trimmed to fit.  The sentiment is from a set by GG called Love Potion # 9 and was printed, trimmed and attached.  Washi tape from Retro Art CafĂ©, some glitter hearts from the Dollar Store and a seam binding bow colorized with Distress Ink completes my card.  Thanks for stopping by!

Just A Note or Two!

Greetings and Happy New Year to each of you!  This is my first scheduled post for 2015.  We are up to Challenge #73 over at Inkspirational and for this time around, we have a Word Prompt Challenge:  Note!  The challenge is wide open to your interpretation of the word "note!"  I hope you will pop on over to Inkspirational to see what our Guest Designer and the rest of the Design Team have cooked up for you and then share a creation of your own with us.

For my own card, I began by cutting white card into an 8"x8" card.  On the card front, I tore up some scraps of Tim Hotlz Christmas Paper that happened to have notes on them and were laying on my work surface from another project I am working on and mounted them to the card from with Gel Medium.  I added several washi tapes next.  The little musical notes are from Sugarloaf and were stamped with Black Archival Ink.  The focal image entitled "Music Wanted" is by a company called Art Declassified, which is no longer around. I added Fired Brick Distress Spray Stain to the card front before adding the matted focal image.  The sentiment was created with alpha stamps by G Studio.  A black and white baker's twine bow completes my card.

Thanks for dropping by today.  Hugs, Yvonne
